A Look Back at the 2025 Nourish & Nurture Women's Wellness Retreat at Wallace Falls Lodge
The Nourish & Nurture wellness retreat at Wallace Falls Lodges is becoming a personal favorite - though the retreat is always unique and shaped by the people who gather.
My 2025 retreat was one of those weekends that felt both grounding and expansive, full of small moments of connection, deep rest, and the kind of quiet many of us don’t realize we’ve been craving until we finally have space for it.
This year’s group shared generously, practiced wholeheartedly, and created a sense of community that lingered long after the final morning meditation. Their reflections offer a beautiful window into what the weekend held.
A Weekend of Quiet, Clarity, and Care
For Patricia, the wellness retreat offered exactly the kind of reset she needed:
“I have just returned from Joanna‘s Nourish and Nurture retreat at the Wallace Falls Lodge in Gold Bar. It was exactly what I was after. Quiet, good conversation, time to meditate, journal, and have incredible nourishing food prepared by Sam… I chose the Reiki and it helped me get some clarity around some issues I’ve been ruminating about. So if you’re tempted to sign up for next year and it sounds like your kind of retreat, I say go for it.”
Her experience captures the intention behind this retreat: an environment that gently supports reflection, rest, and returning to yourself.
For others, the rhythm of daily yoga and meditation was the grounding structure they’d been longing for. Chris shared:
“I attended all the yoga and meditation and each was just what I needed... These retreats have never failed to provide me with every aspect of well-being and being present. The built-in opportunity to have quiet time; journaling; or outdoor time help make it as restoring as I desire; added bonus of wonderful participants creating the unique sangha.”
That sangha, the sense of supportive community, is something that forms naturally at every wellness retreat, and it’s always one of the most meaningful parts of the experience.
Mary described how beautifully everything worked together:
“All the bits and parts, from the place, yoga, meditations, body/energy work, the delicious nutritious foods, the participants, the trails and the hot tub, felt synergistic as a whole. I really felt I was in a safe container of great care.”
Nourishing Food to Support the Journey
Sam’s meals once again became a highlight of the week. From warming soups (LINK TO SOUP BLOG HERE) to colourful, nutrient-rich bowls, every dish was prepared with intention and served as an extension of the retreat’s purpose: to nourish body, mind, and spirit.
Space to Move, Rest, Explore, and Simply Be
One of the reasons this wellness retreat resonates so deeply with participants is its built-in spaciousness. There is structure, but never pressure.
Some people spent free time hiking the trail toward the falls.
Some journaled by the fire.
Others chose a book, a nap or slipped into the hot tub for a good soak.
The yoga and meditation practices supported whatever participants needed most that day, with gentle guidance, modifications, and thoughtful sequencing.
A Retreat That Stays With You
The most powerful part of a retreat is how it continues long after the final practice. People often return home with more clarity, a calmer nervous system, softer edges, and a renewed sense of presence in their daily lives.
