Real Stories: Finding Healing, Community, and Growth at Joanna Dunn’s Pacific North West Yoga Retreats
When considering a yoga retreat, it’s natural to wonder: Will I feel comfortable? Will it be the right fit for me? Sometimes the best way to answer those questions is to hear directly from those who’ve experienced it firsthand.
Yoga retreats are about more than yoga poses, they’re about connection, healing, and feeling seen exactly as you are.
Here are two heartfelt stories from recent retreat guests who found something truly special:
A Journey of Healing and Connection at Wallace Falls Yoga Retreat
"I feel incredibly fortunate to have attended Joanna's Nourish and Nurture yoga retreat at Wallace Falls last fall. It was exactly what I needed to unwind, nurture myself, and find healing during a challenging period in my life. Initially, I was a bit nervous since it was my first yoga retreat and I didn’t know what to expect. However, the women were so friendly and welcoming, which helped me feel at ease right away.
Joanna's yoga and meditation sessions were profoundly healing, the food was both delicious and nutritious, and the massage I received was one of the best I’ve ever experienced. I was pleasantly surprised by additional activities such as a group coaching session and ecstatic dance, which both provided me with unexpected clarity. I highly recommend Joanna's yoga retreats and look forward to attending another one soon."
Finding Comfort, Community, and a New Meditation Practice
"Such a great experience this January. I found Joanna Dunn literally by looking around online for WA yoga retreats this winter. I didn’t know anyone else going or what to expect and I had such an amazing time.
She attracts good people, unassuming, down-to-earth folks, and I immediately felt comfortable. Joanna herself is an amazing facilitator, everything she offers is an invitation, and somehow she structures the retreats in a way that meets each person where they’re at, offering modifications, opt-in or opt-out options.
This retreat helped me, for the first time in my life, build a daily meditation practice because she made it accessible and took away the intimidation I felt around it. The yoga level was very variable, I'm a seasoned yoga practitioner and still felt challenged; yet, so did others around me who were new to yoga. And the food was amazing! For those who find themselves hesitating to dive in for the first time, I recommend you go for it! I'm sure glad that I did."
